Apostolic Program

The call to the priesthood is a call to service. A vital part of the seminary formation program is the Apostolic program in which all students participate. Seminarians are involved on a weekly basis on supervised ministry at hospitals, prisons, convalescent, day care and facilities for the handicapped. In addition, they offer their services as catechists and leaders in religious education programs such as RCIA. Subsequent theological reflection in small groups enables the seminarians to reflect on their individual aptitude for ministry and to evaluate their relationships with persons outside the seminary community.

The students are evaluated yearly by their local supervisor and by the seminary Field Education Director. The results of those evaluations are discussed individually with the seminarians.
