- Applicants who wish to enter St. John Vianney
College Seminary at the beginning of any semester must first initiate
application procedures by contacting the diocesan Vocation Director,
bishop or religious superior concerned. No applicant will be admitted to
the College Seminary without first securing acceptance
After receipt of all of the above, the
Admissions Committee of the College Seminary will consider the
application and inform the applicant of their decision. Generally, the
decision will be conveyed no later than three weeks after the completion
of the candidate’s file. The Admissions Committee requests that the
applicant visit the Seminary for the purpose of interviews and possible
further testing. All applicants are strongly encouraged, if it is
feasible to do so, to visit the Seminary prior to application. Vocation

Non-Seminarians

Non-seminarians applying for admissions to the College simply should address their application to:
The application for the non-seminarian will be
processed by the Academic Division which will subsequently notify the
applicant of its final decision. |

Previous
College Credit - The previous college credit of a transfer student from an accredited college will be accepted, provided that the grade for the course submitted was C (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) or better, and provided that the courses are compatible with the Seminary’s degree distribution and concentration. Transfer credit from a non-accredited institution will be considered on an individual basis. Acceptance of academic credit rests with the Academic Dean. |

College
Level Examination Program (CLEP) -
Credit will be awarded for satisfactory
scores on the General Examination or Subject Examination of the College
Level Examination Program. Since CLEP credit is regarded as transfer
credit, the maximum transferable credit under CLEP - general and subject
examination scores combined - is 30 semester hours with a maximum of 6 semester hours in each of the five areas of the General Examinations (with the exception of English and Spanish); Humanities, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and History. |
