Pell Grants (Basic Educational Opportunity Grants)
  • Students enrolled in a degree program on at least a half-time basis
  • Undergraduates only.
  • Students must file Basic Grant application or other approved form as soon as possible.
  • Up to $4050 per year depending on need.
  • Federally funded and awarded
Stafford loans
  • Students enrolled in a degree program on at least a half-time program.
  • Students must file application form and supporting documentation as soon as possible.
  • $2625 per year for freshmen; $3500 for sophomores; $5500 for juniors and seniors.
  • Insured by Federal Government or Florida Assistance Commission.  The Loan is made by a lender such as a bank, credit union or savings & loan association.
Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students
  • Parents of dependent undergraduate students.
  • Students must file application form as soon as possible.
  • Cost of education minus estimated financial aid students is eligible for.
  • Essentially same provisions as Stafford Loan.
Florida Student Assistance Program
  • Full-time under-graduates who have resided in Florida for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the academic year for which application is made.
  • Students must file application form and supporting documentation before April 1 of previous academic year.
  • Range from $200 - $1481
  • Funded and awarded by Florida Student Financial Assistance Commission.
