The mission of the Theology Department is to fulfill the requirements of The Program of Priestly Formation which has as its focus the fundamental beliefs and practices of the Catholic faith. In particular, it concentrates on those elements of faith which may have been overlooked or neglected in the students' religious education and which stand as a presupposition for all forms of graduate theological study. In addition, the Department's mission is to give a fundamental theological education to religious and laity who envision themselves in one of the ministries of the Church.
The theology program includes introductions to biblical revelation, doctrine, church history, liturgy, spirituality, and Christian ethics. The course of studies allows students who advance in their theological knowledge so that they can enter graduate studies in theology without difficulty.
