We are gearing for Vocations Awareness Weekend which will take place this weekend. Vocations Awareness Weekend, or VAW as it is known around the seminary, is an opportunity for men, both young and old, who are discerning the call to the priesthood to come and spend a weekend living amongst the seminary community. During this time the guests are staying in our rooms and going to conferences, they are also exposed to the other aspects of seminary life which includes: a ton of food, sports, relaxation, our prayer life as well as opportunities to just spend time in communion with other men discerning this call.

Our lifestyle, by no means is limited to the activities that I mentioned above, but in a weekend’s period of time we try to engage the men coming to visit in as much of our daily lifestyle as possible. As someone who has been on several of these weekends before entering the seminary I can honestly say that VAW is a great opportunity to get a glimpse of the seminary community. I ask you for your prayers during this weekend. Please pray for the seminary community who will be hosting these men that we may be an instrument of guidance for these men coming to further their discernment of this great calling. I also ask you for your prayers for the men who will be with us on this weekend that their hearts may be open to the Spirit’s movements within their hearts. May this year continue to be a year of Hope and Healing.
