College Seminary

My Name is Brian Fabiszewski and I was born Nashville, Tennessee and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I have one older brother. My family and I moved to Largo, Florida when I was 16. After graduating from Palm Harbor Preparatory High School, I took classes at St. Petersburg Junior College and then the University of South Florida. In 2005, I graduated, with honors, from Eckerd College with a B.A. in history. I worked as a tech support representative for a computer company while attending college. I am in Pre-Theology II at St. John Vianney College Seminary.
I am currently one of the older seminarians here at St. John Vianney. I can surely say that I have no regrets for coming to the seminary many years following High School. This is because the experiences that I have gained from working in the world for a number of years gives me a solid foundation in understanding the people that I may some day be ministering to. To truly understand something is to have lived, and true understanding can not come from just reading about life. Therefore, coming to the seminary in your late twenties or early thirties is not an impediment. It is a solid cornerstone to formation.
This past week we helped celebrate Bishop Noonan’s twenty-fifth anniversary of ordination to the priesthood. This was a tremendous experience seeing the fraternity among the Bishop and his classmates. I can only hope that years from now I can look back, see the same growth, and love for the Church that these men have now. I also received the news that my nephew was born. These two events over the last week are a tremendous blessing.
